Get to Know Some of Your NIARN Board Members!

Posted over 2 years ago by David Miller

Mary Kuncis

Mary is currently the Clinical Nurse Coordinator on the 22nd floor spinal cord injury unit and MACU (medically advanced care unit) at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab. It is her 13th year here at this facility. She became interested in NIARN because she would like to broaden her horizons and benefit her facility as she became more advanced with her specialty. She would also like to connect with other members throughout the area, and bring back ideas and innovations to facility.

Tamara Diaz

Tamara is currently a nurse liaison with Marianjoy Acute Rehabilitation, now a part of Northwestern Medicine, and has been there since May 2019.  She may be to NAIRN board, but is excited to be immersed in rehabilitation for our community as well as increase her knowledge of community resources available while prioritizing:  diversity, social determinants, and health care disparities.

Brandi Moore

Brandi is a Nurse Manager at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, part of Northwestern Medicine. In May 2021, she celebrated 29 years in the rehabilitation setting. During this time, she has had the opportunity to serve in many different positions. With the changes in healthcare, she thinks the timing is critical for nurses to be involved in professional organizations. It is a nurse’s responsibility to be involved in decisions that improve practice for our colleagues and those we serve.

Clare Marlin

Clare is honored to be on the NIARN Board for a second year and champion professional nursing in the physical medicine and rehabilitation setting. As a professional nurse and CRRN, she is a member of a dynamic and interdisciplinary team who provides care to individuals following brain injuries.  She is also Certified in Infection Control (CIC) and provides guidance and education for colleagues on topics related to infection prevention and control.
